16 Weeks

This week the baby's muscles are getting stronger, that way he/she will be able to set many world records in the future. The heart is already pumping about 25 quarts of blood a day. Plus the baby is practicing it's facial expressions, yawning, grimacing, and squinting.

As far as me, I've been feeling pretty good. Still suffering from headaches almost every day and my blood pressure has been pretty low. An example reading would be 96/40, but luckily I've been trying to drink more water and my blood pressure tonight was 111/66. I go to the doctor this Tuesday the 2nd and I'll make sure I mention that to her. This will be visit with doctor #3, I have 4 doctors in total (all women), I have to meet them all because we won't know who will be there on birth day. So far I like the first 2 and I'm sure I'll like the other 2 also. If anything interesting happens on Tuesday I'll post about it.

15 Weeks and a Belly shot

Today marks the start of week 15, it's possible I could start feeling movement as soon as this week. It's most likely I won't feel it for another 2 weeks though. The baby is growing eyebrows and eyelashes this week, and also hair on its head. Though if it's anything like Eric and I as babies, they won't have any hair for a good year!

I think I might go look at Old Navy tomorrow and check out their maternity gear. I don't know how much longer my work t-shirts are going to last.

Finally I attempted a belly shot, keep in mind it's with my cell phone. And I didn't realize I was getting this big already!

14 Weeks

Today marks 14 weeks into this wonderful journey.

This week the baby is about the size of a lemon. The baby's skeleton and organs are developed, now it's starting a period of rapid brain growth, fat buildup, and detail work. Fingerprints are now developed, as the hands move around in the amniotic fluid the tips of the fingers created unique ridges.

I have now entered the 2nd trimester, so I should start feeling like a human again. I'm actually considering going for a run tomorrow, who knows if it will happen though!

I don't have a camera right now, so no belly pictures. I'm just feeling a little fat, no bump yet but I swear my abs are starting to stretch. I feel like I've been doing a lot of crunches.

Baby's first photo

We had our ultrasound this morning and I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. We now know the baby is developing properly, we saw the little heartbeat flickering. At one point the baby waved and stretched out and kicked a couple times. Can't wait until I can actually feel that going on! The heartbeat is 153 and mom already thinks it's a boy, but actually the old wives tales are saying girl. We'll know for sure in about 2 months.

The first photo is the whole body, the head on the right, you can see the spine along the bottom and the legs curled up.

The second is a close up of the head, we're still trying to figure out whose nose that is. Hopefully mine!
